Shadow prowled silently... He was a magician, but he still enjoyed a good hunt... He could smell the deer and see a few of the herd from his hiding place. He looked left and smelt the air. His brother, Wind, was in position. He looked across the glade and saw the glint of his other brother, Blake's, eyes.

Takoda opeend her eyes and leapt to her paws. She hadn't slept like that in ages. 'Feel better?' Nayati asked. She had a teasing look in her green sparkly eyes and Takoda growled. 'Just because your a warrior and u recover faster, doesn't mean the rest of us normal wolves do' she said snapping at the huge grey wolf's tail. 'Normal' repeated Nayati slowly. 'Hunt.Now' Takoda snapped through her jaws.

Shadow grinned and howled. The deer looked up, startled and ran away from Shadow, straight to where Wind and Blake were hiding. The two pounced and took down one each. Shadow sprung from his hiding place and ran after the heard, leaving Blake and Wind with their trophies. He ran quickly and was soon among the herd. He was going for the biggest stag, up ahead leading the herd.

Nayati rolled her eyes and supressed the urge to tackle Takoda's proud figure to the ground. She could take her, she was larger. But Takoda did have a bit of a temper... Suddenly the black wolf's ears snapped up. A grin spread across her face. 'Three wolves, hunting deer down in the glade, come on' she barked cheerfully. Nayati growled. 'They could be dangerous. We should ready ourselves for a fight' she warned chasing after Takoda. Takoda laughed. 'You and your fighting, haven;t you got enough scars already?' Nayati growled and raced ahead of Takoda.

Shadow caught it with ease and jumped onto it's back. The stag stopped and tried to buck Shadow off. He growled and bit into the stag's neck with superwolven strength... It fell dead to the floor and the herd was gone... Shadow raised his muzzle, Brothers! I am here.

Wind grinned at Blake, We're coming Shadow! Then he picked up his young doe in his jaws and dragged it along to Shadow, Blake doing the same.

The smell of blood swept through Takoda's nose and took her blurred paws racing past Nayati. She heard Nayati's annoyed snarl. Takoda's eyes flashed red but she wasn't going to lose controll. She was just excited. They hadn't come across any wolves for moons and now she could smell blood too. It was too much to handle. She burst into a glade and skidded to a halt. Nayati skidded beside her in a pool of blood seconds later. 'Shadow?' Barked Takoda panting heavily.

Shadow's head whipped around, Takoda... He breathed.

Blake's attention was upon the wolf behind Takoda, Nayati... He whimpered... His old mate.

For the first time in her life, Takoda was speechless. 'Wow...wow...wow I can't believe its you. Why didn't I smell you? I can't believe this!' She barked happily trotting forwards. 'Come on Nayati' she woofed

Shadow smiled, "Care to join us in our meal?" He asked, "You won't catch anything else today, the deer are long gone."

Blake was panting now, excitement... Nayati... It was really her.

Wind looked from Shadow, to Blake... He wished for once that he knew more wolves.

'Of course, thanks. So whose this?' Takoda asked glancing at the two other wolves.

"My brothers... Blake and Wind." Shadow looked past Takoda and recongised the other female, Blake's old mate Nayati. "Greetings Nayati."

Blake lay down and tried not to look at Nayati...

'Hello Shadow' replied Nayati as she padded forwards, her tail lifted in an arch. Takoda trotted past and smelt Wind and Blake. 'Its good to meet you' she said grinning. Nayati rested her gaze on Blake for her moment and hardened her heart. She looked back at Shadow. 'What's happened to your pack?"

Shadow looked to the ground, "Dead... Zasher..." He whimpered... "Chanli..." A tear dripped from his eye as he remembered his dead mate.

Wind grinned at the two females. He had made himself long ago forget about Dawn, she would of wanted it.

Takoda's heart fell. 'I'm sorry Shadow. Just wait, one day I'm going to rip out his throat. Seriously' Takoda promised. Nayati immediately thought of one thing. 'Were there cubs?' She asked quickly.

Shadow nodded, "Kitar and Lykos' three..." He looked back up at Takoda, "No need to kill Zasher... Kitar sacrificed herself to let me kill him after he killed her mate and cubs..."

Nayati's face fell. 'There were cubs?' She whimpered. Takoda gave her a rough lick on the muzzle. 'Don't think about it' she told her firmly. Takoda turned to look at the three wolves. 'Do you mind if we accompany you? For a while?"

"As long as you wish, anything for old friends." Shadow smiled.

Blake stood and dragged his doe over to Takoda and Nayati. "Eat, I will share with Wind."

'Thanks' said Takoda pulling the doe towards her. 'Nayati..food...are you there?' She said. Nayati nodded and cleared her throat and ate the deer. 'Is there any plans you have in mind?' Asked Takoda tilting her head

Shadow shook his head, "No, we just travel from place to place... These two come with me whilst I forfill my magician duties, helping other wolves and protecting the forest and it's inhabitants."
